Tabloids report location accident during 'Skyfall' filming

15-Feb-2012 • Draft News

According to red top tabloid The Sun, a minor accident took place with an extra during location filming of "Skyfall" in Vauxhall, London, this weekend.

The paper reports that a "car ploughed into an extra during a high-speed chase for the new James Bond movie — as star Judi Dench looked on in horror."

This seems to be a bit of an exaggeration, as the vehicles filmed at the weekend on Vauxhall bridge were not traveling particularly fast, and not in a car chase.

"Director Sam Mendes was in the black Mercedes, which had a camera mounted on its roof. He was left 'shaken up' by the incident," according to the tabloid. "The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital. Filming on the movie — called Skyfall — was halted for an hour to allow Mendes and other crew members to recover. About 75 vehicles, including cabs and buses, were being driven by stuntmen when the crash happened at London's Millbank on Saturday. Dench, who plays Bond's boss M, was being filmed in one of the cars."
