Signed Ian Fleming photo up for auction|
A rare signed photo of Ian Fleming is currently up for auction at PFC Auctions
. The sepia, somewhat tattered photo of James Bond's creator is currently going for £1,037 with 14 hours to go in an online auction.
Auctioneer Adrian Roose commented "The photo only measures 3½" x 4½" but to a James Bond fan it's priceless. We've had global interest so we're confident of a good result."
The lot description reads:
A very rare signed photo of James Bond creator Ian Fleming measuring approximately 3½” x 4½”.
The photo has various creases and paper tears, however the signature is largely unaffected.
The item is accompanied by provenance from the vendor explaining how it was obtained by a family member who was employed as a house keeper at The Rookery, Aspley Guise, Bedfordshire.
The Rookery was an office involved with the counter propaganda team, where Ian Fleming was a regular visitor.
An exceptionally rare item. There are believed to be as few as five Ian Fleming signed photographs known to exist.
