Barbara Broccoli appears as a court witness in Clifford trial

26-Mar-2014 • Bond News

James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli appeared in London's Southwark Crown Court today to testify that she did not believe publicist Max Clifford ever met her father Albert R. 'Cubby' Broccoli and did not have links to casting the films.

Clifford is on trial for 11 counts of indecent assault against seven women and girls.

The court heard that Clifford claimed he represented Cubby Broccoli, and told one alleged victim she would have to sleep with the producer so she could be in one of his films.

Earlier, the jury had heard from a woman who claimed Clifford attacked her in his office when she attended a meeting about the possibility of him representing her after she won a role in 'Octopussy'.

Broccoli told the jury, "As far as I know he did not know [Cubby]. Max Clifford represented a couple of gymnasts we hired on Octopussy. He was just an agent."

The trial continues.
