Reports of Sony hack causing SPECTRE shooting shut down are bogus

13-Dec-2014 • Spectre (2015)

The Times of London splashed a story yesterday that all of Sony Pictures productions currently filming had been suspended "because the problems have left it unable to process payments". They alluded that production on the 24th James Bond film SPECTRE had been halted.

The story was quickly broadcast around the media echo-chamber, with few journalists checking the facts.

Sony has not suspended any filming, although it is far from out of the woods with the hack scandal.

The Times has not updated their article.

The hackers dumped another trove of data to media outlets today, including personal health records of Sony staff and talent.
