German actor Detlef Bothe cast in SPECTRE, shoots scenes in Austria

24-Jan-2015 • Spectre (2015)

Detlef Bothe, the 49 year old German actor with over 20 years and 70 credits under his belt, was spotted on location with the SPECTRE crew whilst they filmed scenes in Solden and Obertilliach earlier this month.

(potential spoilers follow)

As well as an epic action sequence involving Bond piloting a light aircraft, and a scene between Craig and Ben Whishaw in Obertilliach town centre, another sequence was filmed on the cable cars at the ski resort at Solden.

The actor, appearing opposite Whishaw in the scene, even posted a picture of himself on location to his public Facebook profile.

According to his newly-updated IMDb listing Bothe appears in the film as the man in the cable car. Austrian press report that Bothe's character will be pursuing "Q" in a handful of the Austrian scenes.

Bothe is the first confirmable addition to the cast of SPECTRE since Sam Mendes announced his principals at the December 4th press conference.
