Bond Girl rumour #3: Jasmine Lennard claims she has landed a role

17-Oct-2005 • Casino Royale

Jasmine Lennard is the latest actress to voice her desire to play a Bond Girl opposite new 007 Daniel Craig in the forthcoming movie "Casino Royale".

Following the MI6 reports on the Bond Girl Race at the weekend, Lennard has been linked by the British press as the latest rumour.

According to the Telegraph, the "Make Me a Supermodel" anti-star Jasmine Lennard is "to be a Bond girl in the forthcoming Casino Royale".

"It's really hush-hush," she told the Telegraph reporter at the Pink Ice Ball for Cancer Research UK last Friday.

"I'm not sure which girl I'll be playing yet, but I don't want to be a stereotypical Bond girl anyway. It would be more fun to be the villain - I know all about that. Since appearing in Make me a Supermodel, I'm continually being cast as the bad girl."

Update: Jasmine is falling for the old Bond trap - talking about a potential casting before it happens. That usually has only one outcome... being dropped.

She told the Daily Mail. this week, "It's at early stages and nothing has been confirmed, but I am in talks," she said. "As soon as I heard the producers wanted to see my biography and pictures I was incredibly excited."

Jasmine said: "I'm sure every girl in the world harbours a secret ambition to be a Bond girl, and growing up with a mother who played one only inspired me even more.

"If I get to be in this one I'll be delighted. I wouldn't care if it was the smallest role in the whole movie. I would rather like to play the baddie, though. I'd have to toughen up for the action scenes, but that's the part I'd most like.

"It's a bit boring being one of Bond's lovers. All you get is a bit of fun under the sheets in the final scene. Being the baddie is much more exciting."

Lennard - who recently appeared in Guy Ritchie's appalling Revolver - could do worse than seek advice close to home. Her mother, Marilyn Galsworthy, played Stromberg's assistant in The Spy Who Loved Me.
