Tabloids muster up unfounded rumours of Sir Anthony Hopkins as Bond 23 villain

05-Mar-2011 • Skyfall

Another day, another uncited "source" appears in the pages of British red-top tabloid, The Sun. This time the rag is linking Sir Anthony Hopkins with a recurring role as a villain in the 007 franchise.

Quoting a generic-enough phrase about the Welsh star's availability, the tabloid seeks to make waves on the back of 007 once again:

"The only stumbling block seems to be the number of films he is signing up for," says the unidentified 'source'. "There is a chance the character they want him to play could become a regular feature, like Blofeld back in the day."

As ever, treat this and other rumours published as gospel very lightly indeed.

Daniel Craig will be returning in the 23rd James Bond film on 9th November 2012. Shooting is expected to start late this year.
