After months of preparation - specially constructing the largest of the buildings on the slope and moving in others from surrounding areas - pyrotechnics and controlled explosions were seen emanating from a specially staged hole in the main building at Obertilliach.

Chris Corbould, James Bond's long-serving special effects supervisor, was spotted on location to supervise the effects.

Several other shots were captured today, including 007 (clad all in black) 'piloting' a wingless plane fuselage downhill through the snowy village. However, reports indicate that not enough snow had fallen to complete the effect so the crew had their work cut out relocating the powder to enable filming to take place.

Craig also got his hands back on a P99 and filmed a sequence on foot with his gun brandished. The newest Bond girl, Lea Seydoux, is also expected to be involved in the action, although she was not clearly visible to onlookers on this occasion. A team of medics were also on hand.
