The twentieth film in the James Bond series, "Die Another Day", would also mark the 40th anniversary of the franchise and later prove to be Pierce Brosnan's swan song outing. On January 11th 2002, the world's media was assembled for a photocall and press conference at Pinewood Studios in England on the first day of principal photography. Brosnan was joined by Halle Berry for a television interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America.

The satellite delay, coupled with Brosnan suffering a heavy cold, got things off to a slow start. Brosnan reveals that he only met Berry for the first time that day, her casting being left to the last minute (the next two films would see the female lead cast after shooting started).
