RC2 Announce Casino Royale Models
9th February 2006

RC2 are to build a 1/18th scale model of the Aston Martin DBS, which is Bond's new car in the latest film "Casino Royale" that will be released in November this year.

The car will be the latest in RC2's 007 range and interest is already high for the new models - which will be in stores in time for the film being in theatres.

Artist's concept drawings of the new car were released by Aston Martin and RC2 will be working closely with them and Eon Productions to ensure that the model reflects every detail of the original film car.

"I do know what the gadgets are and I can reveal that they are inside the car," said Ray Wootton, RC2's head of sales and marketing who added: "but I cannot give details at this stage. What I can say is that the model DBS will feature great action as all our Bond cars have in the past."

RC2 have been hugely successful with their 007 collection of 1/18th and 1/64th scale vehicles, which so far have seen six classic cars from the Bond films being produced. These have included the Aston Martin DB5 from "Goldfinger", the Vanquish from "Die Another Day" and the most recent Lotus Esprit from "The Spy Who Loved Me".

Wootton added: "This is going to be a premium model with fantastic detail that will sell for around £35. I am sure that pre-orders, which are taken now, will account for the entire first shipment. We are also working with Aston Martin on producing a special limited edition model of no more than 1,000. This model might include an official Aston Martin badge, copies of the construction drawings, signed by the design team or posters from the film - but will be very special.
