Today, the cover artwork for the US edition of Sebastian Faulks' novel (pictured opposite) was released via EW.com.

'The idea,'' Faulks told EW last summer, when the deal was announced, ''was that it should read as though Fleming had written it.''

Its ready for worldwide release on May 28th - the day on which Fleming would have turned 100.

Plot details are under embargo, but this exclusive sneak peek of the jacket art reveals a shadowy, well-coiffed, and tuxedo-ed James Bond figure on the spine, indicating fans could be in for an old-school treat.

Theme Song - Voting Begins
For one week only, MySpace users and James Bond fans will have the rare chance to be part of 007’s history by choosing the next Bond theme tune, for the eagerly awaited new Bond novel by Sebastian Faulks, Devil May Care. From today (Monday 3rd March 2008), after careful deliberation by a panel of expert judges, the shortlist to Penguin’s first ever audio book soundtrack competition using MySpace has been revealed.

Over the past month, hundreds of musicians have submitted original work through the book’s MySpace profile in the hope their track would be chosen as the official theme tune to Devil May Care. The shortlisted entries has been announced on the MySpace profile, kicking off the public vote for a week

MySpace is urging users to go to the site to listen to the shortlist and submit their vote. The winner will then be announced on the profile on 17th March.

The shortlist of entries were selected by a judging panel, which includes the book’s author, Sebastian Faulks along with respected figures from the world of literature and music, including cult music producer Jazzie B and Matthew Fleming, great nephew of original Bond author Ian Fleming. Dom Cook, Head of Music for MySpace UK and Alex Clarke, editor of Devil May Care were also judges.

Dom Cook, Head of Music for MySpace UK, comments: “With more than 500 entries, the quality of work has been amazing and it’s been a hard task to pick just five. However, the choices have been made and there is just one week to vote for the winner!”

Alex Clarke, Penguin Editor of Devil May Care commented, 'We were overwhelmed with the entries and really impressed with the standard. It was hard to choose just 5 favourites but we are thrilled with the result. Now it's out of our hands and up to the public!'

This will be the first theme tune to accompany a James Bond book and will later be made available as a free digital download via Penguin (penguin.co.uk) and iTunes.
