An attractive Ian Fleming box set with updated artwork by Michael Gillette is to be published next month

German publisher Cross Cult is to release a box set of Ian Fleming's James Bond novels next month. The attractive collection features the artwork of Michael Gillette, who was originally commissioned to create the cover artwork for the 2008 centenary reprints. The art was so well received that limited edition prints of the covers were made available to buy.
For the German market, Gillette was re-commissioned
to update the artwork to reflect the translated titles
and to make some revisions. The artworks that got the most
substantive revisions are, "Thunderball" - which
Gillette explained in an interview he was never fully happy
with - and "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", which
revises the look of Bond's bride-to-be Tracy Di Vicenzo.

The text in these editions was translated by Stephanie Pannen and Anika Klüver. Although published in Germany, the box set is available to order in the UK via Amazon.
