Take a look at the new Jaeger-LeCoultre time piece, inspired by 007 and comes ready to unlock your Aston Martin DBS...

AMVOX2 DBS Chronograph

10th July 2012

"Now pay attention, 007. Here is your new Aston Martin DBS. And this is your new watch. Simply press the sapphire crystal here and the doors to the Aston lock. Press the glass here to unlock them. Touch at the 12 o'clock position to activate the chronograph function..."

This certainly sounds like the sort of fanciful equipment Q might issue to Bond at the start of another thrilling mission, however, this revolutionary timepiece actually exists in the form of the Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX2 DBS Transponder Chronograph.

This elegant piece of high-tech engineering is the latest addition to the exclusive AMVOX range of watches, created to mark the partnership between these two great companies. This timepiece not only offers the kind of the kind of watchmaking expertise that one would expect from Jaeger-LeCoultre, but it also features an integrated transponder circuit that allows the owner to lock or unlock their Aston Martin DBS with a mere touch of the sapphire crystal.

The creator of this watch, Francis Cretin, told MI6-HQ how he drew inspiration for the watch from Fleming's super spy.

"James Bond was certainly an inspiration, and there is definitely a bit of James Bond in the AMVOX2 - even more so in the transponder version. 'Q' has done a very good job with Jaeger Lecoultre so far!"

Cretin's original intention was to be able to start the car simply by touching the crystal, but unfortunately this was not possible for insurance purposes. Imagine if it had been, though. This function might have been ideal for James Bond to exact a swift getaway.

Whilst we might all want to get our hands on such a beautiful looking timepiece, the 18 carat pink gold and black calfskin leather AMVOX2 DBS Transponder is exclusively available to DBS owners and then only in limited numbers. So, do try to keep yours in one piece this time, 007.
