PROFILE
Stacey Sutton is heir to the riches of Sutton Oil following the death of her father. She travels to Zorin's mansion where she meets James Bond for the first time (under the guise of James St. John Smythe). Bond takes a coincidental interest in Stacey after he eaves drops on Zorin writing her a cheque for $5 million, suspecting she is on his plans. Sutton then leaves the horse sale for her job at San Francisco City Hall, where she works as a geologist with a suspicious interest of Zorin's pumping plans.

After "interviewing" Sutton's boss at the Department of Conservation, 007 spots her and follows her to her country home where they are both attacked by Zorin's goons who want to put pressure on her to financially settle with Zorin. Following a night visit to City Hall to uncover Zorin's plans for Silicon Valley, the pair are set up by Zorin and May Day, with Bond having to rescue Sutton from a burning elevator. Concerned about Zorin's plans for the mine, Bond and Sutton infiltrate the base and discover Zorin's true motivations.

Aside from contributing the occasion piece of scientific advice to Bond about Project Mainstrike's effects, Sutton is more of a hindrance to Bond. 007 has to help her escape the flooded mine, and then go after Zorin's airship in which she has been ludicrously captured.

BIOGRAPHY
Tanya Leigh Roberts (born Victoria Leigh Blum) is the daughter of a pen salesman (Irish) and a Jewish mother (who were divorced before she reached high school). She dropped out of school at the age of 15, got married and hitchhiked around the country until her husband's mother had the marriage annulled.

She later met psychology student, Barry Roberts, in a New York movie line and they married a few months later. In her early career, Tanya made a meagre living as a dance instructor and from commercials, modelling and bit parts on Broadway. However, she moved with her husband to LA in 1977 and was spotted by Spelling and Goldberg, producers of the hit TV show Charlie's Angels, which she joined in 1980. She only worked on the show for a year before it was cancelled, but it gave her a chance to make a move into the movie business.

Her previous attempts (including The Yum-Yum Girls in 1976 and California Dreaming in 1979) were nothing special, however, her TV work allowed her to move onto projects such as The Beastmaster in 1982 and Sheena in 1984.

The highlight of her career came in 1985 when she starred as Stacy Sutton in the James Bond film 'A View To A Kill'. Instead of a springboard to success, Roberts suffered the curse of the Bond girls and slipped into obscurity, making only 2 films in the next 4 years.

She finally found work again, this time in the form of erotic thrillers such as Night Eyes (1990) and Sins of Desire (1993).

Roberts has been most recently seen on the new American sitcom That '70s Show playing Midge Pinciotti.
