Olga Kurylenko: 'Bond wasn't my goal. It just happened'

25-Feb-2013 • Actor News

The Ukranian star of "Quantum of Solace" recently reflected on her career and her brush with Bond in an interview with Metro.

Although, in contrast to Berenice Marlohe's well-documented campaign to become a Bond girl, Kurylenko says that becoming a Bond girl wasn't a big dream, she does admit that she was keen to make the move from modelling to acting as quickly as possible:

‘With modelling, you go somewhere for 24 hours and you don’t even see the city, you don’t talk to people or see the culture. I didn’t keep any friends, because you can’t make friends. It’s very difficult. Also, apart from work, they all hang out in modelling crowds and parties. I never did. I didn’t feel I belonged there.’

She's becoming a recognised face in Hollywood, but despite this, Kurylenko prefers to make her life outside of America. "When I’m in America, I feel like I’m so far away from my roots, and here I don’t – I’m European. Just walking on the street in London makes you feel like everything has a meaning," she says of London, her new adopted home.
