'Skyfall' named best selling DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK in 2013

The latest James Bond movie 'Skyfall' has once again topped the charts.

The British Video Association has revealed that Skyfall was 2013's bestselling DVD and Blu-ray, with 2.96 million units sold since it landed on shelves in February. That's almost one copy sold for every 30 people in the country. It beat its nearest rival 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' by 900,000 copies.

Whilst sales of DVDs are on the slide, Blu-Ray sales are up 10% on 2012. According to the BVA, DVDs and Blu-Ray titles sold 162.2m units this year. Approximately 1 in 50 units sold in the country through the year were from the James Bond franchise.
