Bond girl Serena Gordon explains why she quit the acting profession

01-May-2014 • Actor News

Actress Serena Gordon, who was seen opposite Pierce Brosnan in "GoldenEye" as the MI6 profiler, succumbing to the 00-agent's charms, recently gave an interview to the Telegraph, explaining why she has retired from screen acting.

"I thought, ‘Why do I put myself through the bizarre experience of standing in front of a camera surrounded by a lot of people, and feeling exposed?’," Gordon admits. She also shuns the constant quest for physical beauty. In this day and age, she complained, actresses her age were required to be "full of Botox".

"I did an episode of Holby City, playing a woman who rushes to see her younger boyfriend after he’s in an accident. People kept saying, ‘Are you playing his grandmother?’ Even some of the young boys on Holby had had Botox."

Her other TV credits include "The Bill", "Midsomer Murders", and "Silent Witness".
