Tom Hiddleston would love to be the next James Bond

07-Mar-2016 • Actor News

English actor Tom Hiddleston, who currently plays the lead role in 'The Night Manager', a $30m six-part adaptation of John le Carré’s spy thriller for the BBC, was quizzed by the Sunday Times on any ambitions to take over the role of 007 when Daniel Craig steps down. Turns out he is a 'hug fan' of the series.

"I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing," said the 35 year-old, adding that he went to watch 'SPECTRE' while shooting 'Skull Island' in Hawaii.

"If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity. And I’m very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly."

Bookies across the UK have slashed the odds on Hiddleston given the very Bond-ish elements to 'The Night Manager'. "The producers of the next 007 movie will surely be keeping an eye on Hiddleston’s performance in case Daniel Craig decides to step down,” said a representative from William Hill.
