Pierce Brosnan says he`s not retiring as 007, but he`s no dead cert for James Bond 21 yet

11-Jul-2004 • Casino Royale

The media circus surrounding the Pierce Brosnan "will he, won't he" Bond 21 situtation continues to swirl this weekend with many tabloids running various incarnations of the old rumours.

The man himself spoke the TheAge - an Australian newspaper - about his recent role in "The Laws Of Attraction" and the forthcoming "Matador".

On the subject of the Bond 21 situtation, Brosnan said he was not retiring from the role, but admitted he was no dead cert for the 2005 movie yet.

When pressed on the issue of his eventual successor, whenever that may be, Brosnan said: "I honestly don't know who should be the next Bond. There are so many good actors".

"Connery's the one you want to be as good as," Brosnan says. "He's the big man."

Thanks to `Sheryl` for the alert.
