Pinewood receives planning permission to rebuild 007 stage, bigger than ever next year

21-Sep-2006 • Bond News

Pinewood Shepperton PLC said it has received full planning permission to rebuild the James Bond set which was destroyed by a fire in July and expects it to be completed early next year.

In a statement the film and TV studio company said construction on the 007 stage has already begun - reports LSE

'The replacement stage will conform to the footprint and height of its predecessor. While the gross floorplate is the same, modern building techniques and improved internal design have increased the usable area inside the stage from 45,424 sq ft to approximately 57,000 sq ft,' the company said.

Pinewood has already said it does not expect any material adverse financial impact from the fire.
