Garbage alert: The Sun scrapes together Bond 23 internet rumours

20-Jan-2011 • Skyfall

Tabloid red-top rag The Sun has scraped an 'exclusive' article today that merely combines a random collection of old Bond 23 rumours from last year.

As the 23rd James Bond film was officially announced last week, it took the hacks a few days to put together the piece and manufacture some fake insider comments.

Highlights of the piece include:

"Casting Rachel Weisz was going to be a surprise twist as everyone would assume she'd be a Bond girl when really she would play a villain. But the fly in the ointment is that [she and Daniel Craig] are now dating."

This rumour started back in April 2010.

"The Sun has learned that pre-production for the 23rd 007 installment is well under way after producers overcame financial troubles that had left its future in doubt last year. "

'Learned' by reading the press release?

"The film - due out next year - is tipped to be called Red Sky At Night. But Ian Fleming's three remaining titles The Property of a Lady, Risico and The Hildebrand Rarity are also being mooted. And planned stunts could include a death-defying winter sports chase. "

The Sun read an anonymous posting on a fan forum last week.

You can expect to see this garbage recycled on movie blogs and reported as un-sourced 'fact' in tabloid newspapers over the coming days...
