Bond girl Rosamund Pike talks about her Johnny English experience

04-Feb-2011 • Actor News

Rosamund Pike had a ball filming Johnny English Reborn - because Rowan Atkinson cracked her up.

The former Bond girl is appearing in the highly anticipated sequel alongside the British funnyman, who will reprise his role as secret agent Sir Johnny English, and Gillian Anderson as his MI7 colleague Pamela Head.

"It was wonderful - Rowan Atkinson is a genius. I've been watching him since I was a child and find him so funny," she said.

"There were scenes where the whole crew was in hysterics. We started shooting at seven in the morning and were still laughing at it by six in the night. He's astonishing to work with, really astonishing. I had a great time."

While Rosamund, who currently stars in Barney's Version with Paul Giamatti, will gush about Rowan, she prefers to keep details of her character and the storyline close to her chest.

"I can't tell you about the plot. It's a continuation of the character from the last film," she revealed.

"The whole world has been re-imagined, it's a rethinking of the British secret service. They have re-imagined how the British Secret Service works in a very funny way, in a way that would appal an agent like James Bond or Johnny English."

The 32-year-old added: "I don't play an agent - I play a new element, ingredient, in this new-fangled MI7."

Johnny English Reborn is scheduled for release in October, while Barney's Version is in cinemas now.
