London Filming (3)
17th May 2015
The 'SPECTRE' crew were back in action in central London today for a chase along the River Thames

Westminster in central London is usually quiet on a Sunday evening, but not when James Bond's in town.
Harkening back to the action filmed by Pierce Brosnan in 1999 on the same stretch of water for 'The World Is Not Enough', this weekend saw Daniel Craig's incarnation as 007 take to the river. Except that it wasn't really Daniel Craig. As with some of the earlier work seen in Mexico, a stuntman donned a lookalike latex mask for the action, rather than relying on CGI face replacement later.
Although most of the action was performed by stunt professionals, Daniel Craig, Lea Seydoux and director Sam Mendes were all on the scene.

Much of Westminster, including Vauxhall Bridge, was shut down for the filming a chase scene between a helicopter and Bond and Madeleine on a power boat. The climatic finale is sure to be an iconic moment in 'SPECTRE' with the Houses of Parliament, the Big Ben tower and the MI6 building forming an instantly recognisable backdrop.
Those on the scene saw Craig's stunt double shooting at the helicopter as they barreled down the Thames. Filming is scheduled to continue along the stretch of river for the next three weekends.
