The script for Bond 24 is complete as pre-production ramps up on the next James Bond adventure.

According to reports, the 'touch up' work to John Logan's script by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade was more of a re-write. As MI6 reported back in June, the experienced duo of Purvis and Wade were brought back in the screenwriting fold after Logan's screenplay failed to meet the demands of producers, director Sam Mendes and 007 himself Daniel Craig.

Daily Mail columnist Baz Bamigboye, who has a genuine insider on the Bond productions as his news has also proven to be accurate, says that Mendes and Craig 'begged' Purvis and Wade to come back and fix the script. It was Mendes who brought Logan in to the franchise, hiring him to perform the final polish on the 'Skyfall' script.

'Everyone's excited, and all systems are pumping away at full speed," the source said, adding that Purvis and Wade's script is "substantially different" from Logan's. "There was an awful lot of work to do. It was a big job. The impression given was that Purvis and Wade were hired to add jokes - but it was a bigger deal than that."

Bamigboye adds that "Mendes almost went down on his knees to persuade Purvis and Wade to return to the Bond fold. The director had a lot of making up to do. But during the re-writing process all four men - Craig, Mendes, Purvis and Wade - behaved graciously and just got on with the job."

The go ahead for filming has been given and shooting is expected to start in late November to early December.
