Barbara Broccoli gives a status update on Bond 26

Christopher Nolan received the British Film Institute Fellowship Award in London on Wednesday night at a star-studded event.
Barbara Broccoli was in attendance. Asked by Baz Bamigboye for an update on the 26th James Bond film and casting the next 007, Broccoli was politely non-committal. "No”, she said, “there’s nothing I can tell you about the next Bond film. There’s nothing. Nothing is happening yet.”
Late last year she said Bond 26 was still some years away.
Seated at Broccoli's table was 'Dune' producer and documentarian Tanya Lapointe, and when asked by Baz if she had discussed the next Bond film, avoided the question: "I must go and say goodnight to the Prime Minister,” she uttered. However, director Denis Villeneuve was more talkative. Bond "is a figure linked with my childhood. A charismatic figure I have adored through the years. A character that you can put a lot of your shadows into, a very interesting character," he said.
The evening started with an unexpected warm-up act by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak who, staring down the barrel of a landslide election defeat later this year, found humour in his political situation. “Barbara, I hear you might be casting for a special vacancy, " he cracked. "Wise politicians always keep their options open. So I just wanted to say, if you’re looking for someone with conflict experience, a strong track record of handling evil villains, or indeed someone who is comfortable with the risk of being replaced in a few years, then I’m your man.”
Amogst the special guests were Bond alumni Hans Zimmer (composer, 'No Time To Die') and Hoyte van Hoytema (cinematographer, 'SPECTRE').
