Mathis, Rene Mathis
Back in February, the "Quantum of Solace" production team was hard at work in Panama, filming scenes that will be doubling for Bolivia in the final film. Just surfacing are pictures of Italian actor Giancarlo Giannini, who reprises his role as Rene Mathis from "Casino Royale". The shots were taken in the popular neighborhood of Santa Ana, in the center of the Panamanian capital. Giannini shot scenes with Gemma Arterton (Agent Fields). A previous MI6 Production Diary carried photos of a similar scene with Fields and Bond. Daniel Craig's stand-in can be seen doubling as James Bond in the final spy shot.

A Leap of Faith
Daniel Craig shot scenes from the film's opening action sequence in Siena, Italy, earlier this week. Filming on the roof-top cahse is about to be completed. Click here for earlier coverage of the Siena filming. The latest spy shots to emerge show 007 making spectacular leaps from roof to roof in persuit of his quarry.

On Edge
During the same day that a local mayor interrupted the location filming and was briefly detained by police, a sequence was shot with Daniel Craig driving a dusty Ford Edge outside an abandoned railway in Baquedano, Chile.
