SPRI president Mark Zucker kicked off the festivities by telling the audience that Sony had one of their best slates ever. Exhibitors were asked to turn in all cell phones, BlackBerry's and cameras before the main event.

Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli were joined by the new Bond girl Olga Kurylenko in presenting 10 minutes of footage from the film to a packed audience. Kurylenko, who plays Camille, said that shooting was ""the most incredible experience of my life". Wilson described Daniel Craig's second adventure as 007 as "faster, more intense and filled with more fight scenes".

As composer David Arnold has only recently started work on the score, the footage was accompanied by a temporary soundtrack, but the audience was reportedly thrilled with "Quantum of Solace" scenes from London, Italy and Bolivia (actually shot in Panama and Chile).

Production on the film wrapped in Pinewood Studios in the UK last week. Director Marc Forster and his editing and effects teams are now hard at work in post production. The 22nd James Bond film opens on 31st October 2008 and the first week of November in North America and Europe. Click here for a complete list of international release dates.
