James Bond's watchmaker of choice, Omega, has released two new Seamaster models to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the series.

The new Seamaster Diver 300M in stainless steel is "replete with Bond movie tributes, including a playful and dynamic nod to the iconic opening sequence, known and loved by Bond fans all over the world."

The back of the watch is what really sets this model apart from its predecessors. Omega says that the iconic opening sequence features "Bond in silhouette and a spinning gun barrel" - of course, neither of these statements is accurate. But it's a nice story to explain the spiral “moiré” effect animation that plays repeatedly as the action is linked to the spinning of the lollipop seconds hand.

The 'GoldenEye Blue' edition features laser-engraved waves and a blue oxalic anodized aluminum dial. The 42mm Seamaster Diver 300M has a contrasting blue dial with skeleton rhodium plated hour/minute hands and a lollipop seconds hand in white varnished aluminium. It will retail for $7,600 (model 210.30.42.20.03.002).

The 'Gold' edition has its dial in natural grey silicon in an apparent "nod to the sands of 007’s Caribbean hideaway." The watch also features a unidirectional bezel with shaded green and yellow treated diamonds. Model 210.55.42.20.99.001 has no disclosed price.
