James Bond Short Story Compendiums
29th November 2009
MI6 Competition
MI6 are offering you a chance win paperback copies of
"Quantum of Solace - The Complete James Bond Short Stories" by
Ian Fleming, courtesy of Penguin Books.
With no movie novelization for
the 2008 James Bond film "Quantum
of Solace", Ian Fleming Publications issued
a short story compilation with new cover artwork
in a hardback edition through Penguin Classics.
This compendium
contains all nine James Bond short stories written by Ian
Fleming.
"For
Your Eyes Only" was a collection of five short
stories published in 1960 that Ian Fleming had originally
written for one hour television shows for CBS in mind.
Two of the short stories contained in the "For Your
Eyes Only" collection had been previously published. "Quantum
of Solace" had been published in the May issue of
Cosmopolitan magazine in 1959, and "The Hildebrand
Rarity" had been published in the March issue of
Playboy magazine in 1960.
The original 1966 hardback "Octopussy & The
Living Daylights" only included the two titular
stories. The paperback edition added "The Property
of a Lady". The 2002 paperback by Penguin added "007
in New York". |
