The James Bond movies have been brought into the 21st century
with special 5.1 surround sound remastering, new film transfers
and extra special features in the "Ultimate Editions"
series. MI6 reviews reviews the films and each of these features
along with all the special new content.

Video
As with many of the Bond films from the 70s and 80s, Licence
To Kill is presented in 2.35:1 with 16:9 enhancements and is
mastered from a new high definition transfer. The restoration
has improved the colour saturation from previous releases and
the film looks fresh and vibrant. Only a couple of noticeable
video artifacts are present with some background aliasing.
Audio
Featuring a new DTS 5.1 mix, this track is far superior to the
complimentary Dolby Digital 5.1 mix. The 5.1 track is still
great, but the DTS mix is an amazing improvement. Both mixes
boast faultless sync and no noise or clicks. The surround and
sub woofer get a good workout and Kamen's score enjoys a large
range.

New Bonus Features
Deleted Scenes With Director John Glen Introductions -
John Glen introduces nine deleted scenes. Two scenes
with Sharkey, a few scenes with Bond and Pam including
a casino scene, two scenes with Lupe, and Bond captured
by the Hong Kong Narcotics Agents.
Bond '89 - Michael G. Wilson introduces this excellent
feature containing interviews with Producer Albert R. Broccoli,
Stunt Coordinator Paul Weston, Parachute expert B. J. Worth,
and actors Carey Lowell, Timothy Dalton and Robert Davi.
The main topics are Dalton's Bond, John Glen's directing,
the early Bond women, the Bond character, Mexico City,
and Dalton's stunts.
On the Set With John Glen - Director John Glen narrates
behind the scenes footage of various stunts such as the
tanker chase, and gas explosions.
On Location With Peter Lamont - Production Designer Peter
Lamont narrates on location footage of Licence to Kill
including Villa Arabesque.
Ground Check With Corkey Fornoff - Aerial Coordinator Corkey
Fornoff discusses various modifications made to a plane
for the stunts of Licence to Kill and his previous stunts
in Bond movies.

All other features were previously released
on the Special Edition DVD.
One Last Thing...
A lot of the known cut scenes are now featured on this Ultimate
Edition release, but a few shots are still missing here and there
since the original censor's cut. It would have been nice to see
a split-screen feature on how the censored scenes back in 1989
stacked up against this 'uncut' release.
