Sean Connery Is Back As James Bond
25th January 2005

MI6 can exclusively confirm that Sean Connery is back as James Bond 007!

As MI6 first revealed last week, the next 007 licenced title from EA Games will be "James Bond 007: From Russia With Love" and the likeness of James Bond in the videogame will be none-other than the actor who portrayed 007 in the 1963 film of the same title - Sir Sean Connery.

The game, based around the film, will use the likeness of a young Sean Connery as 007 in third-person perspective, much in the same style as Pierce Brosnan appeared in 2004's "James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing" from EA Games.

It is yet to be confirmed whether the 75 year-old actor will also provide the voice of 007 for in-game quips and cinematic cut scenes.

Work commenced on the game in summer 2004 at EA's Redwood Shores studios in California, USA, and has been kept tightly under wraps - until now!

"James Bond 007: From Russia With Love" will be released in late 2005 / early 2006 on Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube. Although a date is yet to be officially announced, it is expected to target November 2005 for shipping as this is the most lucrative release slot for a Bond game.

Movie Synopsis
SPECTRE plans an intricate scheme to lure James Bond into stealing a valuable Soviet decoding machine, and unknowingly deliver it into their hands. In the process, Agent 007 is to suffer a humiliating and disgraceful death.

Scripting Sean
Writer Bruce Feirstein, who penned that last EA Bond outing "Everything or Nothing", and worked on the first three Pierce Brosnan Bond films, will be scripting the game.

It was originally planned for Pierce Brosnan to star in an original James Bond adventure, and a lot of work had been completed on EA's Bond6 project, until the actor publicly distanced himself from the role late last year. Click here for more details on the ill-fated Brosnan/Bond6 project.

Development of the game will take place at EA Redwood studios (USA) and will ship in late 2005 / early 2006. An official announcement of the game is expected sometime in Q1 2005. It is unclear how faithful EA's videogame of "From Russia With Love" will be to the 1963 film.
