McDonald's concepts for James Bond Jr toys have emerged
By MI6 Staff
Although it is often looked back on now with disdain by fans, James Bond Jr was a hit kids TV cartoon in the early 1990s that spawned a lot of merchandise during the years when the film series was on hiatus. There was a line of action figures and toy vehicles by Hasbro, comic books, novelizations, videogames, sticker albums, and even marshmallows.
News breaks today via Consumer Time Capsule that a series of four toys were planned for McDonald's to be packaged in their Happy Meals in early 1992. Movie and TV show tie-ins were popular for the restaurant chain at that time, and other Happy Meal toys in 1992 included The Real Ghostbusters, Yo Yogi, Back to the Future: The Animated Series, Batman Returns, and Tiny Toon Adventures.
It is unknown how far into development these toys got, but no James Bond Jr tie-ins ever launched at McDonald's.
