MI6 has been covering 007 since January 1998, and a lot has changed since then. To celebrate 007's 40th Anniversary and the forthcoming release of the 20th silver screen adventure "Die Another Day", MI6 commissioned a professional design house to work their magic on the world's most visited unofficial 007 site...

The New Look MI6 - 2002
29th May 2002

Chasing the latest fashion trends and whizzy Internet gadgetry was never high on MI6 itinerary, focussing on delivering the best content to the widest audience was always the priority.

But more than 4 years on from the debut of what has now become the world's most visited unofficial 007 site, and with the forthcoming 40th anniversary and 20th film, it was time to bring a fresh look to MI6.

James Page and James Wheatley, founders of MI6 way back in January 1998, last month commissioned a professional design house to help freshen up what was already an award winning and much complimented design.

Pay Attention 007

If your browser supports caching, you may not be seeing the new MI6 design correctly.

Internet Explorer users can ensure they have the latest gadgetry by simply holding down the CTRL key and press F5. Keep the CTRL key held down until everything has loaded.

Other browsers can be made ready by deleting cached content from the options menu.

Digital Flashback's mission was to deliver a new look and feel that maintained the renowned MI6 branding and style, but added much more freedom of navigation and flexibility.

"The brief was not easy.

MI6 wanted to maintain their style which has been built on for over 4 years now, whilst also giving flexibility for the new content which will be exploding over the coming months."

"There are a lot of toys and surprises in the new design. It will take quite a few visits to MI6 before people spot them. We are certain it's going to prove popular among the regulars and new visitors alike".

MI6 hopes you enjoy the new design of the site and look forward to the new content we will be rolling out over the coming months. Some very exciting projects lay in wait, with even more original and innovative features already past the planning stage and on the launch pad.
