The 95th Academy Awards held on Sunday night (March 12th, 2023) turned out to be a historic one, and one that left James Bond fans feeling proud - especially Pierce Brosnan-era fans.

Michelle Yeoh was nominated for Best Actress for her role in 'Everything Everywhere All At Once.' A hot favourite going into the event thanks to wins at the Golden Globe and SAG awards, it was still an anxious night for the former Bond girl who played Wai Lin in 1997's 'Tomorrow Never Dies'.

How fitting it was then, that the Best Actress category was presented (along with Jessica Chastain) by fellow Bond girl and Oscar winner Halle Berry. She had picked up her Best Actress Academy Award back in 2002 for her role in 'Monster's Ball' whilst shooting 'Die Another Day' and became the first woman of colour to win the statue. Ana de Armas was also Best Actress nominee this year for her amazing work as Marylin Monroe in 'Blonde.'

When the envelope was opened a glass ceiling was smashed as Michelle Yeoh became the first Asian woman to win Best Actress.
