Trevelyan rose quickly through the ranks of MI6 to become an elite assassin and was awarded 00 status. However, when Alec discovered the truth of his parentage and the torture they faced as a result of the British, he defected secretly and immersed himself in the underground world of the Russian Mafia.

Nine years later, Trevelyan emerged as the mysterious Janus – leader of the Janus Crime Syndicate. Little did the British know, all they saw was their 00 Agent assassinated by the Russians on a mission in the 1980s. With money and fear behind him, Trevelyan set about a twisted and catastrophic plan to avenge his parents and their fate.

Scheme
After hijacking and stealing the “keys” to the secret Russian EMP weapon, GoldenEye, Trevelyan disappeared to Cuba. His plan was to electronically rob every bank in England seconds before setting off the GoldenEye blast – crippling every electronic device in the UK and disguising his theft. Bond tracks his old partner to his Cuban facility and finally cripples the GoldenEye satellite transmitter and drops Trevelyan to his death.

I've Been Expecting You Alec Trevelyan: You're late, 007. James Bond: I had to stop in the bathroom. We first see 007 and 006 work together in the 1980s to put an end to the Arkhangelsk Russian Chemical Weapons plant during the Cold War. It is on this mission that Trevelyan is “assassinated” by Colonel Ourumov and secretly defects to the Russian Mafia. Trevelyan blames Bond for facial scars sustained in an earlier mission, when 007 shortened the explosive timers.

Headquarters
Throughout the GoldenEye mission, Trevelyan is on the run from Bond and his headquarters regularly relocate. From a deserted graveyard to a luxurious armoured train and finally to a lush island in Cuba, Trevelyan always travels with style. In Cuba, Trevelyan occupies a giant radio transmitting facility that blends seamlessly in with the jungle posing as a lake. However, when water is drained with giant pumps the lake reveals the satellite dish capable of arming GoldenEye.

Gadgets & Vehicles Trevelyan rides luxuriously in the armor bound, ex-Soviet train. Armed with full CCTV surveillance equipment, this ICBM train is also equipped with a retractable helipad and mini-chopper. Dress Code Alec Trevelyan is often seen wearing multipurpose combat uniforms, all dark shades and always with his hand on the holster – a hang over from his 00 Agent days.

Bond confronts Trevelyan for the last time on top of the giant satellite dish in Cuba. After crippling the satellite communications, Bond engages in a bloody battle with his ex partner, climaxing when 007 drops Trevelyan from the top of the radar. Trevelyan’s fate is sealed when the entire complex collapses around him.

Biography
Born in Sheffield in England, Sean Bean’s career has spanned television, theatre, radio and film in over 25 years of acting. On stage, Bean is critically acclaimed as Shakespeare’s Macbeth – so popular was his rendition of this classic that the run was extended.

Bean began his onscreen career in 1984 with Roy Battersby’s “Winter Flight” where he took on one of the lead roles of Hooker. From here his career blossomed and Bean won roles in the likes of “The Field” – and on television: “The Bill” and Jim Henson’s “The Storyteller”.

Bean came to Hollywood recognition when he portrayed the villain in Harrison Ford thriller “Patriot Games”. More recently Bean played Boromir in “The Lord of the Rings” film trilogy and Spence in the action/thriller “Ronin”.
