Telltale Games wish to take on James Bond videogame license (ideally)

05-Jan-2014 • Gaming

Since Activision made a fist of the 007 videogame license, failing to bring a single blockbuster title to the charts in their tenure outside of a "GoldenEye" remake, it must be daunting for the next potential studio considering taking on Bond's gaming rights.

But not so Telltale games, who have published the successful "Walking Dead' series on consoles.

Asked which license he'd adapt next if money and politics were no object, Telltale's chief technology officer and co-founder Kevin Bruner could think of just the one. "I'm a giant James Bond fan and I'm always frustrated by games that make him a mass murderer," he told the current issue of OXM.

"He's a super-spy, and that's a different skillset," Bruner explained. "The films make him less of a mass murderer, and there's not much killing in the books - more spying and intrigue."

The fact that Telltale are being so open about the Bond license probably means they have had no discussions with EON Productions and MGM Home Entertainment.
