Ursula Andress voted best Bond girl of all time in new poll

23-Jul-2006 • Bond News

Ursula Andress has been voted the best Bond girl of all time in a poll by Empire magazine and Sony Pictures.
Andress appeared as Honey Ryder in the first James Bond film, 1962's Dr No. The character's emergence from the sea in a bikini remains an iconic scene.

Goldfinger, starring Sean Connery, was named the best Bond film - reports the BBC.

Donald Pleasance's Blofeld, from You Only Live Twice, was named best villain. The Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me was voted best gadget.

Andress beat Famke Janssen, who played Xenia Onotopp in Goldeneye, into second place.

Halle Berry, who played Jinx in Die Another Day and recreated Andress' famous beach scene, was third.

A Channel 4 poll in 2003 named the Dr No scene the sexiest moment in cinema history.
