2006 marks the 60th Anniversary of The Royal Film Performance™ and all funds raised from the World Premiere will go to the Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF), the unique trade charity of the film and television industries.

‘Casino Royale’ is based on Ian Fleming’s novel of the same name. Published in 1953, it was the first book in his ‘James Bond’ series. ‘Casino Royale’ is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and will mark the introduction of Daniel Craig as the legendary secret agent, 007. On the 14th November, the CTBF will also stage an exclusive near simultaneous screening of the latest Bond film, at London’s Odeon West End cinema and, a late night screening, in the Odeon Leicester Square. Regional Premieres will be staged 24 hours later in Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds and Plymouth (details of further regional premieres will be released shortly).

Stan Fishman, President of the CTBF expressed his delight that this year’s film will be ‘Casino Royale’. “Marking the CTBF’s 60th Anniversary of The Royal Film Performance™, it is tremendous that ‘Casino Royale’, the most anticipated film of the year, has been chosen as this year’s film. I am grateful to EON Productions, Sony Pictures and MGM. With their help we are going to make the World Premiere of ‘Casino Royale’ a remarkable fundraiser for the CTBF. This will help us continue our lifeline of support for people behind the scenes in the world of film, television and cinema.”
