Sam Mendes on the Bond 24 script - make sure there are no holes

10-Jul-2014 • Spectre (2015)

Bond 24 director Sam Mendes introduced the film 'Paris, Texas' to an audience at the BFI in London last month and during the interview was asked a brief question about the status of the project (and in the context of the writers Purvis and Wade being brought on take over from John Logan):

"The next one, well it's being written. And that's all I can tell you. Otherwise I'd have to kill you. And there's a lot of people to kill in this room," he joked.

"It's ongoing. For me, so much of it is about script. Because that's the building of the boat. Once the boat goes on the current, it's gone. And if there's a hole in the boat, you're fucked. So you have to make sure there's no holes in the boat. That's what we're doing at the moment."
