Bond 25 expected to be shot entirely digital

24-Jan-2019 • No Time To Die

In a recent interview with Linus Sandgren, the cinematographer pegged for Bond 25, Screen Daily dropped a tidbit into their introduction to the Q&A. Sandgren has just come off 'First Man' based on the life of American astronaut Neil Armstrong where he experimented with a number of different media from IMAX right down to Super 16mm film.

However, according to the trade paper Bond 25 will be the second film in the series' history to be shot on digital media. The last time Bond 25 was shot entirely digital was 'Skyfall', lensed by Roger Deakins, with spectacular results. Hoyte van Hoytema went back to film stock for the follow up.

In the new interview interview the Bond 25 cinematographer talks about enjoying the 'authentic' environments they shot on for 'First Man', and the natural lighting techniques he employed, which may offer some hint as to the look of the forthcoming 2020 James Bond film.
