Dame Shirley Bassey to open BAFTA ceremony

13-Mar-2022 • Bond News

Dame Shirley Bassey will open this year’s BAFTA Film Awards ceremony on Sunday with a mystery Bond performance to mark the 60th anniversary of the franchise.

Hosted at the Royal Albert Hall, the choice of song is being kept a mystery. Will it be Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, Moonraker, or even a Bond song cover from another artist? Bassey has a history of covering the other Bond songs.

Daniel Craig will be skipping the event as he is in rehearsals in New York for his upcoming Broadway production of 'Macbeth.'

'No Time To Die' is nominated in five categories this year:

Outstanding British Film

Cinematography

Editing

Sound

Special Visual Effects
