Diamonds Are Forever landmark demolished in Las Vegas

19-Aug-2016 • Bond News

There is one less James Bond filming location to visit in the world as of this week.

The final tower of the iconic Riviera Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas strip -- home to Liberace, Dean Martin and as featured in the seventh 007 adventure 'Diamonds Are Forever' -- was leveled early on Tuesday morning.

The land is now owned by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority ,who paid the princely sum of $182.5m. Due to the discovery of asbestos in the building, the demolition cost a staggering $42 million.
