Sir Sean Connery told of phone hacking, shrugs it off

30-May-2012 • Actor News

James Bond star Sir Sean Connery is the latest celebrity to be informed by investigators that he was the target of an illegal phone hacking scheme by the (now defunct) News of the World newspaper.

According to reports, Connery was told by police that his name appears in the records of disgraced private investigator Glenn Mulcaire.

His biographer, Murray Grigor, said: “Apparently there were 10 instances. The police were quite excited about it, but he does not want to know. He does not want anything to do with it. He is having a good time and just shrugged it off.”

The Metropolitan Police are investigating phone hacking as part of Operation Weeting.
