LOVEFiLM poll declares James Bond the best film franchise

Up against "Star Wars" and the "Lord of the Rings" films, Bond was triumphant in a poll to find the greatest film franchise.

The poll was celebrating the launch of the Alien prequel, Prometheus, the expected summer sci-fi blockbuster.

Star Wars made second place, whilst Lord of the Rings earned third.

The Avengers series (which includes Ironman, Thor, Captain America and Hulk movies, despite the "Avengers" success at the box office made only ninth place, whilst "Harry Potter" and "The Godfather" placed a respectable fourth and fifth.
