ABC Radio pays tribute to Bond music, this Saturday

13-Jun-2012 • Event

What: Into the Music Tribute to Bond Music
When: 16th June 2012 @ 4.05pm
Broadcaster ABC Radio National

The James Bond film franchise will turn 50 this year with the anniversary of the first James Bond film, Dr No. With more than 20 films in the series, a character played by no fewer than six actors and a theme song that tends to stick in the brain, Into the Music thought it high time they explored the music behind agent 007.

In the program we’ll hear from the original guitarist of the now famous opening chord in the Bond theme song, Vic Flick; author and academic Jeff Smith, and author and expert on music in film, Jon Burlingame.

Music featured includes many of the title songs including ‘Diamonds are Forever’, ‘Goldfinger’, ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’, ‘Die Another Day’, Live and Let Die’ and ‘For Your Eyes Only’.
