Aston Martin Vanquish designer awarded honorary doctorate

16-Jun-2012 • Bond News

The designer of the Aston Martin Vanquish, as driven by Pierce Brosnan as James Bond in the 2002 film "Die Another Day", has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Glasgow School of Art.

Prof Seona Reid described Ian Callum as being at the "top of the game in automotive design".

Callum was a GSA graduate in Industrial Design and helped to revive Aston Martin's DB series before moving to Jaguar in 1999.

"The years I spent at Glasgow School of Art were amongst the happiest and possibly the most creative time I can recall," he said. "I am deeply honoured to be receiving this award from an institution that means so much to me."
