Bond girl Diana Rigg to star in 'Dr. Who' episode

06-Jul-2012 • Actor News

Diana Rigg and daughter Rachel Stirling will appear in the re-booted cult-classic "Dr. Who" in the forthcoming 7th season of the new adventures, currently starring Matt Smith.

Diana Rigg rose to fame through her role in TV's "The Avengers", in which she starred during the '60s alongside Patrick Macnee. She went on to play Bond's doomed lover and then wife in the 1969 adventure "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".

Filming on Rigg's "Who" episode began this week at Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff.

Rigg commented to the BBC: "The first time Rachie and I will be working together is on an episode of Doctor Who specially written for us by Mark Gatiss. How lucky is that?"

Back during the casting of "Casino Royale" Stirling was tipped to take the role of Vesper Lynd - the part which ultimately went to Eva Green.
