No new Aston Martin in 'Skyfall' despite rumours

07-Jul-2012 • Skyfall

When Aston Martin launched their innovative online car configurator last week along with a new model Vanquish, one tiny detail set the James Bond rumours flying.

Amongst the paint options was the colour 'Skyfall Silver', which led many to think that there may be a new model Aston Martin in the upcoming film after all. Especially as the cars featured in the last two films, "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace", have had paint finishes matched to those used on screen.

Alas, this is not to be with "Skyfall", as Aston Martin have confirmed that the paint colour on the new Vanquish is purely to keep the 007 tie-in rolling and 'continue [their] long association with the Bond brand' even though no new car from the marque will feature in the adventure.

James Bond will however be seen driving his classic DB5.

The original three picture deal inked with Ford Motor Company for vehicle product placements expired with "Quantum of Solace".
