Nail artist talks of her work with Marlohe on 'Skyfall'

05-Sep-2012 • Skyfall

Midlands nail artist Khadine Coleman was chosen to work on Berenice Marlohe’s nails for her role as Severine in Skyfall, which is due for release in October, reports the Express & Star.

Miss Coleman, from Stourbridge, spent two hours each day creating a complex design featuring gold and dark red colours. She was based in Pinewood Studios for a week after being chosen by nail product manufacturers OPI, who she works for as an technician.

The firm came up with a special colour named after the film to be used by the character, and has also produced a range of lacquers to tie in with its release.

The 37-year-old, who has run her own salon Nail Envy in Wollaston High Street since 1997, said: “I couldn’t believe it when I was sent the email asking if I wanted to work on the film. It still hasn’t sunk in that it actually happened to me. I had to be on set at 4am every day but it was so exciting. You would think that jobs like this usually go to someone in London – it just doesn’t happen to someone with a salon in little old Wollaston.”

She said Miss Marlohe was “a joy to work with” and added: “She was so stunning – absolutely beautiful.” And she briefly met Bond himself, Daniel Craig, who, she said, was “absolutely charming”.
