New Kindle book celebrates 50th anniversary of 007 in film

07-Sep-2012 • Collecting

A new Kindle book compilation about James Bond is being offered for free until September 10 to celebrate 50 years of cinematic 007.

This year is a big year for fans of James Bond, with the 50th anniversary of the first 007 movie, "Dr No", being celebrated as Global James Bond Day on October 5 and "Skyfall" staring Daniel Craig just weeks away.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary, David Leigh, who runs the popular James Bond fan site The James Bond Dossier, which itself celebrates its tenth year in 2012, has selected some of the most popular posts from the website and compiled them in a Kindle ebook, simply titled "James Bond: Byte Sized". The book is available from Amazon for free until September 10 and as well as the Kindle, it can be read on any device for which a free Kindle app is available; this includes smartphones such as the iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry; Windows and Mac computers; and iPads and Android tablets.

David says, "As 70 percent of the visitors to the website own a mobile device on which they can read Kindle books, I thought it would be great to celebrate half a century of the James Bond films by giving away this ebook. As well as selecting the most popular articles published over the last 10 years, I’ve also selected some of my favourites and added some new content too"

"James Bond: Byte Sized" is available to download from Amazon for free immediately and after September 10 will be available for the low price of 2.99.
